AFC Bournemouth Snaps five-Game Win Drought with 2-1 Victory Against Arsenal
After enduring a five-game drought, AFC Bournemouth has finally secured a much-needed victory in the Premier League, defeating Arsenal 2-1 and reigniting their season.
AFC Bournemouth started the match well and took the lead early when Eli Kroupi netted after 17 minutes, with an assist by Adrien Truffert, making it 1-0.
Arsenal equalised to make it 1-1, as Viktor Gyökeres made his mark with a penalty, in the 35th minute.
It means that AFC Bournemouth find themselves undefeated for the 12th game running.
"Anything that is said when you have a defeat at home, you have to accept that. There are no excuses. It's about how we're going to stand up, first of all, individually, and then as a team to change that immediately on Wednesday," Mikel Arteta said following the loss.
Ahead of Saturday's game, Arsenal had enjoyed a run of eight games without defeat.
AFC Bournemouth are in 10th place after the game, while Arsenal are still at the top of the table, nine points clear of Manchester City.
The next Premier League games for Arsenal are Manchester City (away) on 19 April, Arsenal (home) on 25 April and Fulham (home) on 2 May. AFC Bournemouth play Newcastle United (away) on 18 April, Leeds United (home) on 22 April and Crystal Palace (home) on 2 May.
It took until the 74th minute before Alex Scott scored the decider with an assist by Evanilson.
